Your summer update from Macmillan Financial Planning
Everything tends to go quiet in the summer, so rather than provide you with an article about an aspect of financial planning this month, we thought you’d like some news about recent developments at Macmillan Financial Planning.
If you recall, at the end of last year we shared news with you about new office space, our plans to add a new member to the team, and a new four-legged arrival.
So, read on for an update on all three of those developments, plus news of how we’re looking to enhance the service you get from us going forward.
Our new garden office is ready
As we told you previously, one of our key priorities has long been bigger premises in which to work. Plans in this regard were delayed somewhat due to the pandemic, but now we’re delighted to tell you that our new garden office is finished.
To help support local businesses, we worked with an Invergordon-based architect on design, material use, and construction. Additionally, we made a point of using locally-based suppliers and materials as far as possible.
We have also minimised ongoing energy use through our choice of materials, so are looking forward to needing fewer layers to keep us warm when the cold weather sets in. With all the ongoing news of soaring prices for gas and electricity, we’re certainly happy that we’ve taken this approach.
You’re more than welcome to come and visit us in our new premises. So, if you’re in the area, by all means stop by for a coffee. Alternatively, why not have your next review meeting here?
Of course, we’re more than happy to come to you if that fits your circumstances best – just let us know.
The team is getting bigger
As I mentioned in our newsletter at the end of 2021, one of the reasons for the new office space was to enable us to increase the size of the team.
However, the pandemic caused those plans to stall.
With the office now completed and Covid – hopefully – firmly in the rear-view mirror, we’ve been able to move forward, and we welcomed Jacqui to the business in July 2022.
Jacqui brings with her 23 years of experience in a regulatory setting, working with industry, businesses, government agencies, trade bodies, public bodies, and in client-facing roles.
Initially, the intention is that she will provide support for general administration, client reviews, maintaining company policy, and updating procedures.
All of these will free up time that we can more productively spend supporting you with your financial planning.
Flint is getting bigger as well!
As many of you will know we are a family of dog lovers.
This time last year we welcomed our blue merle border collie puppy, Flint, to Station House. He’s certainly not a puppy anymore! At the last weigh-in, he tipped the scales at 25kg – a decent size for a collie.
He has been a great fit for our family. He’s settled in wonderfully well and has been very patient through the busy months as we focused on constructing the new office.
You’ll enjoy an enhanced experience
After the upheaval and restrictions on face-to-face meetings during the pandemic, we’re really looking forward to seeing you all again over the coming months.
Our big focus will be on making the most of your regular review meetings.
This makes the choice of business technology we use crucial, and one of our key priorities will be to consider what systems are available, to both streamline and enhance the review process and ensure you’re getting the best possible advice and guidance.
